About the Programme

The Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme in Education and Research is established on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation about cooperation in the fields of education and research. The Nordic-Russian Programme is administered by SIU in cooperation with NordForsk.

The general objective of the programme is to promote multifaceted contacts in the fields of education and research, in the interests of sustainable social and economic development in the Nordic countries and Russia. The programme aims to initiate long-term partnerships that will improve the direct links between the involved institutions.

About the Project

The overall aim of the proposed project is to accomplish the three specific goals by initiating a Nordic-Russian long-term cooperation between the project partner universities and enterprises and to sustain results through online training services and practices in innovation management and transfer processes.

The specific goals of the INNOVA project

  • To conduct innovation projects with Nordic and Russian SMEs in order to promote their internationalisation and long-term university-industry cooperation
  • To involve students in the SMEs’ projects with the purpose to improve students’ learning of innovation management and transfer processes
  • To develop international online university-industry cooperation practices and training services with the purpose to sustain the proposed project results

The main project activities:

  • Four joint Innovation Seminars / one in each partner University
  • Piloting joint online seminar
  • Joint international supervision of student’s theses
  • Four International Project Meetings
  • Publications and dissemination of outcomes

The expected project outcomes:

  • Knowledge exchange between the project partner universities and enterprises in innovation management and transfer processes
  • Participation of min 5 students from each partner university in 4 seminars and SMEs’ innovation projects
  • Participation of 2-3 members of academic staff from each partner university in 4 seminars and project meetings conducted in each university
  • 1-3 Bachelor/Master Level students’ theses from each university
  • Nordic-Russian innovation projects of min five SMEs from each country
  • Online platform for training and industry services
  • Publications

The long-term outcomes:

  • Broadened networking between project partners
  • Increased mobility of students and university staff
  • Online platform for training and industry services
  • Jointly developed tools/methodology for the online university-industry cooperation practices and training services
